What’s new in Todos Santos?
The town is buzzing with the anticipation of Thanksgiving and the store owners are preparing for the shoppers on Black Friday. Even though we live in Mexico, we celebrate Thanksgiving with turkey and all the trimmings, but with a Mexican twist. This Thursday, for example, I’m attending a pot luck dinner and bringing Twice-Baked Sweet Potatoes with Chipotle Pecan Streusel (I found the recipe on the net by typing baked yams with chipotle).
To work off all the calories from Thanksgiving consider attending Dancing Under the Stars–the 2nd Annual fund raiser for the Youth in Video program sponsored by the Todos Santos Latino Film Festival. The event will be hosted at El Hotelito and tickets are available at La Esquina and Tecolote Book Store.
This past July I had the good fortune of teaching an introductory photography workshop to seven scholarship recipients from the Palapa Society. The proceeds from the last year’s benefit at El Hotelito enabled the sponsors to earn enough money to buy digital cameras for the students to use at the workshop, and continue on with their videography courses. This year’s benefit will be a fun filled evening and look forward to seeing everyone out on the dance floor. If you are unable to attend, but would like to make a donation to the Youth and Video Program, please contact Leonardo Perel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And what is new in Real Estate in Pueblo Magico Todos Santos?
We have a new listing for one of the most sought after properties in downtown Todos Santos, Casa Azul and Galleria offered at $250,000 USD, it is located one block from restaurants, shops and galleries and two blocks from the historic district. The property features a 2 beds, 2 baths house, plus a gallery space with full bath, for a total of 3 bed and 3 baths. Create by day and entertain evenings in the terraced garden and courtyards, all within walking distance to all the town’s services.
We also just listed Rancho San Carlos, one of Pescadero’s greatest parcels with over 32 acres offered at $1,191,330 USD. The Ranch is easily accessible to downtown Pescadero and two miles to Highway 19, and soon to be serviced by the new four-lane highway. This pristine Ranch offers ocean views from the elevated parts of the properties, while the level areas of the ranch offer seclusion and suited for an equestrian center, farming, commercial project or low density residential community. The entire Ranch has municipal electric and pressurized water from a registered well and offers 360 degree views of the Pescadero Valley, Sierra de La Laguna and Pacific Ocean. Rancho San Carlos a truly magnificent parcel and an incredible investment at $9 per square meter.
So that’s the latest from Todos. Hasta la Proxima!
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, Alvaro.
