Some say that a great advisor is made, not born, and we believe in that thanks to Martin Lagarda. His excellent disposition, learning ability and timely follow-up to all his clients are quickly positioning him as a major real estate advisor in the city of La Paz.
Originally from San Lucas, but a resident of the state capital, I invite you to learn a little more about him.
What are the advantages of living in a relatively small city like La Paz?
La Paz is a small city full of traditions and culture where you can still find those large groups of friends wandering around the beautiful Malecon, or enjoying a good talk in some of its many cafés.
Its main advantage is that it provides all the amenities of a big city but over short distances without the complications a cosmopolitan location involves, allowing you to really enjoy your everyday. Also, the beaches of Balandra, Tecolote, Pichilingue and El Tesoro are comparable to some of the best beaches in the world.
Before crafting a career in real estate, what was it that you did?
I previously worked within the tourism sector focusing on groups and customer service, which taught me much about what a client needs and how to really listen to them.
Regardless of this I have found that no matter where you’re from, when visiting Baja and particularly La Paz, you cannot help but falling in love with its placid beauty and quality of life. I can say that I am very confident knowing that my services as a consultant are very well sustained by the services, amenities and lifestyle of La Paz.
What do you consider are the main advantages of working with a real estate advisor?
Definitely the certainty of trusting your advisor as the local expert, he will help you achieve a successful transaction, no matter if you are seller or a buyer, as his services will be based on your needs.
What would you recommend to someone who wants to buy a property?
The first thing they should consider is their future life projection in 5 years; whether they are a young couple who wants to have a family, a bachelor who wants to live near his workplace or a mature couple whose children have moved away and are looking for a smaller place. All these details and many more should be considered as the starting point when deciding to buy a property – and that’s when we come into place! Since this is our work, we analyze and present the customer all the available options to help them make the decision that bests suits their needs.
What would you recommend to those who want to sell their property?
It is important not to get carried away by their emotions and take into account their advisor’s opinion: from the comments and ideas about staging the property so it shows better, to consider the suggested selling price (based on a comparative market analysis near your area) or all those little maintenance details often overseen; it is important to consider that these recommendations are grounded on your sales advisor’s experience and market knowledge.
How do you enjoy your free time?
I like to go for a walks with my wife and my dog “Coco”; we also love to try different dining options both in small cafes or restaurants in downtown. On weekends we tend to go and venture to nearby towns like El Triunfo, Todos Santos and visit some the beaches for kayaking, stand up paddle or going snorkeling.
We could not agree more with Martin’s comment: trust your advisor – he has the tools and market knowledge to help you find or accurately sell your property. You can contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org or call him to the Coldwell Banker Riveras office in La Paz (612) 128.7868
